Observation on Long-Term Therapeutic Effect of 30 Cases of Abdominal Malignant Tumor Treated by Chinese Drugs Combined with Radiotherapy[J]. Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2003, (5): 354-355.DOI: 10.13288/j.11-2166/r.2003.05.023.
Objective: To observe long-term therapeutic effect of Chinese drugs combined with radiotherapy on abdominal malignant tumor. Methods: 60 cases were randomly divided into combined treatment group (Chinese drugs plus radiotherapy) and control group (simple radiotherapy)
30 cases in each group. TCM syndromes were divided into hyperactivity of fire due to Yin deficinecy and deficinecy of both Qi and blood
and QOL and survival time were investigated. Results: Total scores of QOL
score of physical state and score of psychological quality were 44.40±11. 22
23. 17±7. 18 and 21. 23± 4. 53 in combined treatment group respectively. which was superior to those in control group (P<0. 01). There was no significant difference in survival curve between the two groups
but the 3-year survival rate of 67. 55% in combined treatment group was superior to that in control group(P<0. 01). Conclusion: TCM treatment based on differentiation of syndromes has a certain value in radiotherapy of abdominal malignant tumor
improving QOL and possibly prolonging survival period.
