Objective:To explore effects of serum after needling acupoints of Foot-Yangming Channel on diastolic and contractive activities of isolated gastric antrum smooth muscle cells in the rabbits

so as to study on specificity of correlation between Foot-Yangming Channel and stomach.Methods:45 rabbits were randomly divided into saline group

atropine model group

needling Foot- Yangming Channel’s acupoint group

needling Foot-Shaoyang Channel’s acupoint group and needling Foot-Taiyang Channel’s acupoint group

9 rabbits each group.Blood was taken from the carotid for preparing acupuncture serum.And 10 normal rabbits were selected and their gastric antrum smooth muscle were taken and digested with type Ⅱ collagenase and then made as suspension of the normal rabbit’s gastric antrum smooth muscle cells.Then 1:2 acupuncture serum was mixed with the same volume of the suspension of normal rabbit smooth muscle cells

and after fixation with glutaradehyde the cellular length was measured with micrometer under a microscope.Results:Serum of the atropine model group could extend normal rabbit’s gastric antrum muscle cells with the length of cell increased;Serum in the needling Foot-Yangming Channel’s acupoint group could promote contraction of normal rabbit’s gastric antrum smooth muscle cells with the length of cell shortened

while serum in both needling Food-Shaoyang Channel’s acupoint and needling Foot-aiyang Channel’s acupoint groups did not significantly induce contractive effect on the cells.Conclusion:The rabbit serum after needling acupoints of Foot-Yangming Channel can induce significant contraction of isolated gastric antrum smooth muscle cells

which proves the specificity of correlation between Foot- Yangming Channel and stomach.
