Effect of TCM Compound Preparation on Endothelium-Dependent Dilation of Brachial Artery in the Patient of Type Ⅱ Diabetes Mellitus[J]. Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2005, (5): 357-358.DOI: 10.13288/j.11-2166/r.2005.05.016.
Objective:To observe the improving action of TCM compound preparation on endothelium-dependent dilation(EDD)in the patient of type Ⅱ diabetes mellitus(DM).Methods:21 cases of type Ⅱ DM were treated with a small compound preparation composed of Radix Astragali and Rhizoma Chuanxiong for 6 courses
and changes of the diameter of brachial artery at basal state
reactive hyperemia and taking nitroglycerin for 3~5 mins were observed by high frequency ultrasonography. Results:After treatment of the TCM compound preparation
EDD mediated by blood flow of brachial artery in the patient of type Ⅱ DM improved significantly(P<0.01)
and after treatment of nitroglycerin EDD did not change(P>0.05).Conclusion:TCM compound preparation can effectively improve EDD of the patient of type Ⅱ DM
and high frequency ultrasonography can be used for detection of EDD and assessment of therapeutic effect of drugs for the patient of type Ⅱ DM.
