Objective:To observe effect of phased whole acupuncture on ability of daily life（ADL）in patients of hemiplegia due to cerebral infarction.Methods:113 cases of hemiplegia due to cerebral infarction were randomly divided into a treatment group（n=63） treated with phased whole acupuncture and a control group（n=50）treated with traditional acupuncture.After treatment

improvement of ADL in both groups was compared.Results:The treatment group in increase of ADL and decrease of deformity was superior to the control group.Conclusion:Phased whole acupuncture is an effective method for hemiplagia due to cerebral infarction with better improvement of quality of life.
