Objective To observe the effect of qi-boosting phlegm-transforming and goiter-dispersing medicinals on thyroglobulin antibody (TGAb) and thyroperoxydase antibody (TPOAb) in Hashimoto’s thyroiditis (HT) patients. Methods Totally 60 cases of HT were randomly and equally divided into treatment group and control group. Western medical treatment was conducted in control group
while qi-boosting phlegm-transforming and goiter-dispersing medicinals were added in treatment group. Results After treatment
TGAb and TPOAb decreased significantly in treatment group with significant differences between two groups(P<0.05 or P<0.01). Thyromegaly was significantly relieved in treatment group as well(P<0.05). Conclusion Chinese medicinals can down regulate the indexes of thyreoid autoimmune antibodies and have therapeutic effect on thyromegaly.
