Objective To summarize Chinese medical specialist’s diagnosis of tongue color by fitting study.Methods Tongue photos were taken under a standard condition. Chinese medical specialists were consulted on classification and diagnosis of tongue color by Delphi evaluation. The quantity of red

green and blue （RGB） were tested to verify the result.Results Tongue color was classified into pale white

pale red

red

crimson

pale purple

purple

violaceous and prunosus. Accordant results were got in 87% （1072/1255） of all tongue photos. There were significant differences in the quantity of RGB among different tongue colors （P<0.05 or P<0.01）.Conclusion Delphi is a good method in fitting Chinese medical specialist’s diagnosis of tongue color.
