Objective To study the effect of Baixiangdan Capsule on the expression of steroid hormone receptors in hypothalamus of model rats to approach its action target of PMS with liver-qi invasion.-Methods PMS model rats with liver-qi invasion was made by multiple-factor emotional stimulation.Immunofluorescence cytochemistry technique coupled with flow cytometry and laser scanning confocal microscope was used to detect the expression levels and distribution mode of main steroid hormone receptors（estrogen receptor-α and progesterone receptor） in hypothalamus.-Results Baixiangdan Capsule could markedly up-regulate expression levels of steroid hormone receptors in hypothalamus of model rat.-Conclusion estrogen receptor-α and progesterone receptor were two important components targets.Baixiangdan might partially play its role in ameliorating PMS by up-regulating the expression of neurosteroid receptors.
