Objective To observe the effect of AMIE scheme for dyskinesia of spastic cerebral palsy. Methods The 40 children cases of dyskinesia of spastic cerebral palsy were randomized into the treatment group and the control group with 20 in each. The treatment group was treated by AMIE scheme and the control group was treated by Bobath training. Both groups were treated 60 times. The scores of movement functions before and after treatment were applied to evaluate the effect and 12-month follow-up was done to know the condition of independant walking. Results Compared with before treatment
the difference in the scores of movement functions of both groups was significant (P<0.01)
but there was no significant difference in the scores between groups. The follow-up showed that in the treatment group the cases who could walk independently were much more than those in the control group
the difference was significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The AMIE scheme was effective for dyskinesia of spastic cerebral palsy; the short-term result was the same as that of Bobath training and the long-term result was better than that of Bobath training.
