Objective To study the effect of Chinese medicines on diabetic gastroparesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DMDGP) through regulating qi circulation and to observe its influence on plasma motilin
gastric motivation and blood sugar. Methods The 136 T2DMDGP patients were randomized into a treatment group(64 cases) and a control group(72 cases).Based on the same medication to control blood sugar
they were treated by traditional Chinese medicines on the principle of regulating qi circulation and Clebopride Malate Tablets respectively
and their plasma motilin
gastric motivation and blood sugar were determined for comparison. Results By gastrointestinal migrating motor complex(MMC) determination
the time of phase Ⅰ was obviously extended
the time of phase Ⅲ obviously shortened
while the time of phase Ⅱ not obviously changed
no significant difference found between two groups(P>0.05).The clinical symptoms improved after treatment. The clinical recovered rate and total effective rate of the treatment groups was 65.63%
96.88% respectively
and that of the control group was 52.78% and 84.73% respectively
showing a significant difference(P<0.05).The plasma motilin and blood sugar decreased obviously in the treatment group
the difference was significant as compared with before treatment(P<0.01 or P<0.05).The MMC time phases improved in both groups
but the treatment group was obviously better than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The Chinese medicines of regulating Qi circulation was effective in decreasing blood sugar
plasma motilin
strengthening gastric motivation of T2DM DGP patients.
