Objective To analyze the TCM syndromes of depression with the Bayesian Network analysis.Methods The Observation Table on TCM Syndromes of Depression was made to do a cross section observation on 611 depression patients for the data study with Bayesian Network analysis.In combination with the result of previous cluster analysis

the TCM syndromes were set up and their diagnostic standards were worked out.Results Depression was of six syndromes:Kidney deficiency and liver stagnation syndrome

liver stagnation and spleen deficiency syndrome

heart and spleen deficiency syndrome

liver and gallbladder damp heat syndrome

heart and gallbladder qi deficiency syndrome.Conclusion The TCM syndromes based on Bayesian Network analysis are objective and scientific

in accordance with the TCM theory.
