Objective To observe the effect of Fuhan Recipe （Recipe for latent cold syndrome） plus Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction （Decoction for removing blood stasis in chest） on the coronary heart disease in congenital latent cold syndrome complicated with the symptom of heart blood stasis.Methods Totally 248 cases of coronary heart disease with angina pectoris in latent cold syndrome were randomized into a treatment group （n=126） and control group （n=122）.The control group was prescribed Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction and the treatment group was administered Fuhan Recipe plus Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction

28 days as one course.After one course of treatment

the stopping and decreasing of nitroglycerin

angina pectoris

ECG

and changes of clinical symptoms of two groups were compared.Results The rate of stopping and decreasing of nitroglycerin was 15.87% in the treatment group and 10.66% in the control group

without significant difference （P>0.05）.The total effective rate of angina pectoris in the treatment group was 82.54% and 76.23% in the control group

the difference was significant （P<0.05）.The total effective rate of ECG in the treatment group was 46.03% and 40.98% in the control group

without significant difference （P>0.05）.Of the latent cold symptoms

in the treatment group

the effect on cold extremities

dry mouth

irritability

fatigue

aversion to cold

preferring hot food to cold food

gastric pain or distention

soreness and weakness in lumbus was better than in the control group （P<0.01 or P<0.05）.Of the heart blood stasis symptoms

the effect on chest pain

chest fullness

being worse at night

and palpitation in the treatment group was better than in the control group （P<0.05）.Conclusion The treatment of Fuhan Recipe plus Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction is better in effect for the coronary heart disease in congenital latent cold syndrome complicated with the symptom of heart blood stasis than that of only Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction.
