Objective To observe the regulation effect of blood-treating prescriptions on immune function of psoriasis patients with different TCM syndromes. Methods Totally 103 psoriasis vulgaris patients differentiated into 3 syndromes
including blood heat syndrome(47 patients)
blood dryness syndrome(31 patients)
and blood stasis syndrome(25 patients)
were treated with prescription of cooling blood to remove toxins
nourishing blood to remove toxins
and activating blood to remove toxins respectively. Before treatment and 8 weeks after treatment
the enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)and radioimmunoassay(RIA)were adopted to determine the serum IFN-γ
IL-6
and TNF-α and compared with those of 31 healthy volunteers. Results Levels of IFN-γ
TNF-α
and IL-6 of the patients before treatment were higher significantly compared with those of healthy group(P<0.01).After treatment
they were lowered to certain degrees
of which
the level of IFN-γ of blood heat and blood dryness syndromes was significantly lowered(P<0.05 and P<0.01 respectively)
and the level of IL-6 of blood heat and blood stasis syndromes was significantly lowered(P<0.05 and P<0.01 respectively). Conclusion There exists a certain correlation between the tested cell factors and psoriasis
but their expression is not related with TCM syndromes.
