Objective To discuss the correlation between TCM syndromes and TCM constitutions of the patients with mammary gland hyperplasia. Methods Using the TCM constitution scale to make a survey on 985 subjects
the patient group(patients of mammary gland hyperplasia) 623 cases and the control group(healthy people) 362 people
to compare the distribution of 9 kinds of constitutions in both groups. The subjects in the patient group were differentiated into liver qi stagnation syndrome
phlegm and blood stasis in combination syndrome
and Chong-Ren dysfunction syndrome for observing the distribution of TCM syndromes. The multivariate regression analysis was applied to detect the influence of constitutions on mammary gland hyperplasia. Results Five constitution types
balanced constitution
qi deficiency constitution
yang deficiency constitution
yin deficiency constitution
and qi stagnation constitution
of the patient group were statistically different in comparison with those of the control group(P<0.05)
of them
the qi stagnation constitution
qi deficiency constitution
and yin deficiency constitution were the risk factors of being involved in mammary gland hyperplasia(P<0.05).In the patient group
there were 335 cases of liver qi stagnation syndrome
128 cases of phlegm and blood stasis in combination syndrome
and 140 cases of Chong-Ren dysfunction syndrome
the difference of TCM syndrome distribution in different patients was statistically significant(P<0.01).Conclusion The qi stagnation constitution
qi deficiency constitution
and yin deficiency constitution are the risk factors of being involved in mammary gland hyperplasia. The patients of liver qi stagnation syndrome and phlegm and blood stasis in combination syndrome are mainly with qi stagnation constitution and those of Chong-Ren dysfunction syndrome are mainly of qi deficiency constitution.
