Objective To formulate the patient-reported outcome (PRO) scale of the mild and medium vascular dementia patients
and to testify and analyze its reliability and validity. Methods Totally 133 cases in line with the study standards were collected. The PRO scale A(23 items
patient answer sheet) and B(11 items
family member/nurse answer sheet) of the mild and medium vascular dementia patients were formulated
using Cronbach’s α coefficient to analysis its reliability
and using the correlated coefficients and factors to analyze its validity. Results The Cronbach’s α coefficient of scale A was 0.87 and that of scale B 0.86.The correlated coefficient between the scores of all items of scale A and the total scores was 0.213 to 0.681
being a positive correlation and the correlation was all statistically significant(P
<
0.01).The correlated coefficient between the scores of all items of scale B and the total scores was 0.412
0.742
being a positive correlation and the correlation was all statistically significant(P
<
0.01).The result of factor analysis showed that the common factors after clustering were consistent with the tentative ideas at the beginning of study
reflecting well the three threshold systems of intelligent damages of dementia patients
and fully verified the structural validity of the scales. Conclusion The PRO scale(A and B) formulated in this study is good in reliability and validity. It can be used to evaluate the therapeutic effect of mild and medium dementia patients.
