Objective To observe the effect of TCM medicinal bath on infantile fever caused by cold and to explore the key influential factors of its antifebrile effect. Methods Ninety-six children patients with fever due to invasion of exogenous pathogenic wind heat
divided into 12 groups according to the solution temperature (38+1)℃ and the (40+1)℃ two levels
and solution concentration 0g/100ml
1g/100ml
2g/100ml three levels
and bathing time 15 and 25 minutes two levels
by adopting 2×3×2 multi-factors multi-levels factorial design
were treated with herbal decoction bath. The body temperature variations after enrollment were observed
and temperature curve graphs were drawn to compare the antifebrile effect of different solution temperature
concentration
and bathing time and area under the curve of temperature on the 1st
2nd
3rd days and 72 hours. Results The area under temperature curve of the (40+1)℃ group on the 3rd day was significantly smaller than that of the (38+1)℃ group (P
<
0.05).The area under temperature curve of the 2g/100ml group on the 2nd and 3rd days was significantly smaller than that of the 0g/100ml group (P
<
0.05).The area under temperature curve of the 25 minutes group on the 1st
2nd
3rd days was not significantly different from that of the 15 minutes group (P
