Objective To observe the adjustment mechanism of Bushen Yanggan Xifeng Decoction （Decoction for reinforcing the kidney

nourishing the liver

and stopping wind） on neurotransmitters and dopamine receptor in the striatum of mice with parkinson’s disease （PD）.Methods Fifty-six adult male C57/BL mice were randomized into normal group

PD model group

TCM group

and western medicine group

14 in each.The PD models were established by intraperitoneal injection of MPTP. The normal group and model group were given intragastric feeding with normal saline （0.1ml/10g）

the TCM group with Bushen Yanggan Xifeng Decoction （0.1ml/10g）

and the western medicine group with Levodopa and Benserazide Tablet （0.1ml/10g）

once every day

for 14 days.The level of striatal DA

D1R and D2R in each group were assayed.Results The levels of striatal DA

and LEK in the model group

TCM group

and western medicine group were lower significantly than those in the normal group （P<0.05 or P<0.01）

and 5-HT in the TCM group and western medicine group were higher significantly than those in the model group （P<0.05 or P<0.01）.Immunohistorychemistry （IHC） index of striatal D1R in the model group

TCM group

and western medicine group was lower significantly than that in the normal group （P<0.01）

and the IHC index of striatal D1R in the western medicine group was higher significantly than that in the model group and TCM group （P<0.05）. IHC index of striatal D2R in the TCM group and western medicine group was higher significantly than that in the model group （P<0.01）.Conclusion Bushen Yanggan Xifeng Decoction can increase the lowered striatal DA

and 5-HT of mice models and increase the content of striatal D2R as well.
