Objective To explore the different features of TCM syndromes of angina pectoris of coronary heart disease (CHD) in Shandong coastal region and inland area. Methods Of the 2029 cases of angina pectoris of CHD
1007 were from the coastal region and 1022 from the inland area.Using Clinical Information Table were collected the information within 48h after hospitaliza tion of the patient. The TCM syndrome differentiation criteria were used to dete rmine the syndrome elements and their combination forms
at the same time
the r isk factors associated with phlegm turbid heat was analyzed with Logistic regres sion analysis. Results In the aspects of age
body mass index (BMI)
total cho lesterol (TC)
triglycerides (TG)
low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C)
and blood uric acid level
there was statistical difference in the patients of the two diffe rent regions (P<0.01).Blood stasis and qi deficiency were the most importa nt sy ndrome elements of angina pectoris
however
these two elements were without sta tistical difference in comparison of the two different regions (P>0.05).Th e con stituent ratio of phlegm turbid heat syndrome and cold stagnation syndrome in th e two different regions was statistically different (P<0.05 or P<0.01) .High pur ine diet and hyperlipidemia were the highest risk factors associated with the ph legm turbid heat syndrome
and obesity
high salt diet
and TC were also closely related to it.Conclusion In Shandong coastal region
the phlegm turbidity syndrome
especially the phlegm turbid heat syndrome
is more frequently appeared in angina pectoris of CHD patients than those in the inl and area. The occurrence of angina pectoris of CHD is directl y related with the regional characteristics
