21 days in total.The counts of eosinophil （EOS） and other inflammatory cells were observed.TLR4 mRNA expression in lung tissues was detected by RT-PCR and the TLR4 expre ssion was detected by immunohistochemical method.R esults The TLR 4 mRNA expression and TLR4 expression in lung tissues of the asthma group wer e all significantly higher than those of the control group and treatment group （ P <0.01）

and the count of EOS and the percentage of other inflammatory cells of the asthma group were significantly higher than those of the control group an d treatment group （P<0.01）.Conclusion The TLR4 mR NA and protein expressions i n lung tissues of the asthma group are significantly strengthened

Bupi Yiqi Formula effectively inhibit these expressions and decrease the count of inflamma tory cells including EOS.
