Objective To study the distribution of different TCM syndromes of coronary heart disease (CHD) and their distribution characteristics in different regions in the recent 10 years. Methods Literature on TCM syndromes of CHD from January 2000 to February 2011 was researched from CNKI and summarized according to different regions to understand the distribution characteristics in different regions. Results Of the 10 065 cases
the top eight syndromes were phlegm obstructing the heart meridian
qi deficiency and blood stasis
blood stasis of the heart
deficiency of both qi and yin
yin deficiency of the heart and kidney
yang deficiency of the heart
qi deficiency of the heart
and qi stagnation and blood stasis. As for the syndrome distribution in different regions
the fact was that qi deficiency and blood stasis was common in the northeast region
phlegm and stasis in combination was mostly in the north China
phlegm obstructing the heart meridian and qi deficiency and blood stasis were popular in the east China
qi deficiency and blood stasis and deficiency of both qi and yin were often in central China
and the phlegm obstructing the heart meridian was mostly seen in the south China
southwest and northwest regions. Conclusion In the recent 10 years
the syndrome distribution of CHD in China is that the excess syndromes are mostly phlegm obstructing the heart meridian and blood stasis of the heart
while the deficiency syndrome is often deficiency of both qi and yin
and the complicated excess and deficiency syndrome is qi deficiency and blood stasis. In different regions
the TCM syndrome distribution of CHD has its own characteristics.
