Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of boosting qi

nourishing yin and quickening the blood formula for early diabetic nephropathy（DN）.Methods Totally 120 cases of early DN were randomized into treatment group and the control group

with 60 in each.Both groups were given conventional diet

exercise and western medicine.Shenkang No.3 Formula functioning boosting qi

nourishing yin and quickening the blood formula was added in the treatment group and Bailing Capsule（preparation of Cordycepssinensis） was added to the control group.The treatment course lasted for 3 months.The therapeutic effect

fasting blood glucose（FBG）

serum creatinine（SCr） and blood urea nitrogen（BUN） were observed before and after the treatment.Results The total effective rate of the treatment group and the control group was 85.0% and 63.3% respectively.The differences between groups were statistically significant（P<0.01）.After treatment

UmAlb and SCr decreased significantly in both groups（P<0.01 or P<0.05）

especially in the treatment group（P<0.05）.There was no significant difference in BUN

FBG and ALB in both groups（P>0.05）.Conclusion The combo therapy of boosting qi

nourishing yin and quickening the blood formula with western medicine is effective for early DN

which could protect the kidney and delay the progress of DN.
