Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Changyi Decoction(decoction for colorectal cancer) for postoperative colorectal cancer patients with spleen deficiency and damp heat syndrome and its influence on serum vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) and tumor marks such as CEA
CA199
CA50 and CA724.Methods Totally 402 postoperative colorectal cancer patients were randomized into the treatment group and control group
with 209 and 193 in each. The control group was given chemotherapy. The treatment group was given Changyi Decoction combined with chemotherapy. The serum VEGF and tumor marks such as CEA
CA199
CA50 and CA724 were observed before and after the treatment. Results After treatment
the serum VEGF changed significantly in the treatment group(P<0.01).There was significant difference in VEGF between groups after treatment(P<0.05).Comparing with the control group or before the treatment in group
the serum CEA and CA50 changed significantly in the treatment group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in CA199 and CA72 between groups or in group(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the serum tumor marks before and after treatment in the control group(P>0.05).Conclusion Changyi Decoction is effective for colorectal cancer and could decrease the expression of VEGF
CEA and CA50
which maybe relevant to inhibiting tumor angiogenesis.
