application of the combined acupoints and acupoint selection by syndrome identification were analyzed. Results Eighty articles were included. The top three meridians of the main acupoints were stomach meridian
Ren meridian and spleen meridian.Tianshu ( ST25 )
Zusanli ( ST36 ) and Zhongwan ( RN12 ) were most frequently used in the main body acupoints. The top three ear points used were endocrine ( CO18 )

especially crossing points. The mostly used combined points were Zusanli ( ST36 )
Pishu ( BL20 ) and Sanyinjiao ( SP6 ) .Stomach heat and damp obstruction syndrome and spleen deficiency damp obstruction syndrome were common in clinic. The mostly used combined points were Quchi ( LI11 )
Neiting ( ST44 )
Yinlingquan ( SP9 ) and Pishu ( BL20 ) according to syndrome identifica- tion. Conclusion The combined selection of local and distant points especially specific points are mostly used in acupuncture for obesity. The selection reflects the treatment law that the location of acupoints and the passage of meridians are involved the indications.
