Objective To observe the effect of Sumi Tongru Paste（paste to free milk） combined with massage for postpartum hypogalactia in primiparas.Methods Eighty primiparas were randomized into the treatment group（43 cases） and control group（37 cases）.The treatment group was given the acupoint and local massage for 28 min twice daily from the 6th hour after delivery.The external application of Sumi Tongru Paste was used on Tanzhong（CV 17）

Rugen（ST 18

double） and Zusanli（ST 36

double） for 12 hours daily from 8pm to 8am.The control group was given Shengruling 50ml twice daily from the 6th hour after delivery.The treatment lasted for 7 days.The therapeutic effect

3rd and 7th day of the treatment in both groups（P<0.05）.The lactation quantities on the 2nd

3rd and 7th day of the treatment in the treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group（P<0.01）.The colostrum time in the treatment group was significantly shorter than that in the control group（P<0.01）.The PRL was decreased in both groups after treatment

but with no significant difference between groups or within group（P>0.05）.The breastfeeding in the treatment group was superior to that in the control group on the 35th day after delivery（P<0.01）.Conclusion The combo therapy of Sumi Tongru Paste and massage can increase the lactation quantity

advance the colostrum time and improve breastfeeding of primiparas.
