Objective To study the protective effect and mechanisms of Tongqiao Huashuan Decoction(decoction for orificefree and thrombolysis)on cerebral ischemia reperfusion model rats. Methods Fifty model rats were randomized into model group
Tongqiao Huashuan Decoction high-dose
middle-dose and low-dose groups and salvia injection group
with 10in each.Another 10healthy SD rats were selected as sham operation group. The Tongqiao Huashuan Decoction high-dose
middle-dose and low-dose groups were gavaged with 17.50g/(kg·d)
8.75g/(kg·d)and 4.35g/(kg·d)Tongqiao Huashuan Decoction respectively. The salvia injection group was intraperitoneally injected with 5.25g/(kg·d)salvia injection. The model group was intraperitoneally injected with normal saline. The rats in the sham operation group were caught only. Each group was administered once daily for 15days.The contents of malondialdehyde(MDA)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)in brain tissues were detected. Results Comparing with the model group
the contents of MDA were significantly decreased but the contents of SOD were significantly increased in other groups(P<0.05or P<0.01).Comparing with the Tongqiao Huashuan Decoction high-dose group
the contents of MDA in the Tongqiao Huashuan Decoction middle-dose and low-dose groups and salvia injection group were significantly increased but the content of SOD in the salvia injection group was significantly decreased(P< 0.05).Conclusion Tongqiao Huashuan Decoction can reduce ischemic brain damage by decreasing the content of MDA and increasing the content of SOD in brain tissues of cerebral ischemia reperfusion model rats
