Objective To research the distribution characteristics of constitution and pattern and analyze their relationship in patients with stage 3 chronic kidney disease（CKD）.Methods The TCM constitution questionnaire was conducted and TCM four diagnostic data was collected in 600 patients with stage 3CKD.The pattern diagnosis was divided into qi deficiency pattern

yang deficiency pattern

yin deficiency pattern

water-damp pattern

damp-heat pattern

blood stasis pattern and damp-turbidity pattern.The constitution was classified into gentleness type

qi deficiency type

yang deficiency type

yin deficiency type

phlegm-damp type

damp-heat type

blood stasis type

qi depression type and special type.The distribution of constitution and pattern in 600 patients was analyzed.The relationship between constitution and pattern was analyzed with Pearson correlation analysis.Results The common constitutions of 600 patients with stage 3CKD were qi deficiency type（30%）

yang deficiency type（20%）

blood stasis type（15%） and damp-heat type（15%）.The common patterns were qi deficiency pattern（30%）

yang deficiency pattern（20%）

blood stasis pattern（15%） and damp-heat pattern（15%）.The correlation analysis showed that qi deficiency type was significantly positively correlated with qi deficiency pattern

damp-heat pattern

yang deficiency pattern

water-damp pattern and damp-turbidity pattern

yang deficiency type was significantly positively correlated with blood stasis pattern

qi deficiency pattern

water-damp pattern and damp-turbidity pattern（P<0.05 or P<0.01）.Conclusion The common constitution types of patients with stage 3CKD are qi deficiency type

yang deficiency type

blood stasis type and damp-heat type and the constitution types are closely related with TCM pattern.
