Objective To observe the effects of Luofengning No.2Formula and its disassembled prescriptions on the quality of life（QOL）in patients with cardiorenal syndrome.Methods Totally 46cases of cardiorenal syndrome were randomized into the whole formula group of 12cases

wind medicinal group of 10cases

wind medicinal-free group of 9cases and western medicine group of 15cases.The western medicine group was given routine anti-heart failure drugs.The whole formula group was added with 17.625g granules of Luofengning No.2Formula twice daily.The wind medicinal group was added with 3.525g granules of wind medicinal（wind-dispelling dampness-eliminating medicinal retained only in Luofengning No.2Formula）twice daily.The wind medicinal-free group was added with 14g granules of Luofengning No.2Formula removed wind medicinal

twice daily.The treatment lasted for 3months.The Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire（MLHFQ）

6-minute walking test（6MWT）and quantitative scores of typical symptoms of heart and kidney were evaluated before and after treatment.The therapeutic effect was evaluated after treatment.Results The total effective rate of the whole formula group

the total effective rate of the wind medicinal group was superior to that of the without-wind medicinal group and the total effective rate of the without-wind medicinal group was superior to that of the western medicine group（P<0.01）.The MLHFQ scores were significantly decreased（P<0.05or P<0.01）but the 6MWT distance was significantly prolonged（P<0.05）in the whole formula group

especially in the whole formula group and wind medicinal group（P<0.05or P<0.01）.The quantitative scores of typical symptoms of heart and kidney showed no obvious improvement in all groups after treatment（P>0.05）.Conclusion Luofengning No.2Formula can obviously improve the QOL of cardiorenal syndrome patients with a better efficacy as compared with its disassembled prescriptions.
