Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Wenxin Granules for acute coronary syndrome(ACS) complicated with ventricular arrhythmia(VA)and study its possible mechanism. Methods Totally 64 cases of ACS complicated with VA were randomized into the treatment group and control group
with 32 in each. Both groups were given conventional therapy. The treatment group was added with 9g Wenxin Granules three times daily. The control group was added with 100-150mg propafenone three times daily. The treatment lasted for 4 weeks. The clinical symptoms
signs and serum levels of homocysteine(Hcy) were observed before and after treatment in both groups. The therapeutic effect was determined and adverse reactions were recorded. Results The clinical symptoms and signs such as palpitations
dizziness
fainting
fatigue
chest tightness
chest discomfort and disturbed sleep were significantly relieved in both groups after treatment(P<0.05)
especially palpitations and dizziness in the treatment group(P<0.05).The effective rate of VA in the treatment group and control group was 50.00% and 87.50% respectively
with a significant difference between groups(P<0.01).The Hcy level was significantly decreased in the treatment group after treatment(P<0.01)
with a significant difference between groups(P<0.01).Conclusion Wenxin Granules can obviously improve the therapeutic effect for ACS complicated with VA and its possible mechanism is reducing the Hcy content.
