The contents related to accumulation pattern in ancient TCM literature were analyzed and compared with malignant tumors. The results showed that most of accumulation pattern in ancient literature were not malignant tumors

and the cognition and treatment of accumulation pattern in ancient times were obviously different from that of malignant tumors in modern times. The accumulation pattern could be divided into yin-accumulation pattern and yangaccumulation pattern. The commonly used herbs were Sanleng（ Rhizoma Sparganii

三 棱）

Ezhu（ Rhizoma Curcumae

莪术） and Biejia（ Carapax Trionycis

鳖甲）

and commonly used dosage form was pill. The application of warming medicinal and offensive medicinal was analyzed. The reasons why accumulation pattern cannot be cured by hot acrid medicinal was explained as well.
