Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Tuihuang Formulas( Jaundice-Subsidising Formula
退黄方) for jaundice. Methods Totally 120 cases of jaundice were randomized into the treatment group and control group
with 60 in each. The control group was given conventional intravenous infusion and oral medication for jaundice. The treatment group was given Tuihuang Formulas( Jaundice-Subsidising Formula
退黄方) one dose daily and conventional therapy same as the control group except Kuhuang Injection. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks. The symptoms were scored before and after treatment in both groups. The levels of cholinesterase( CHE)
alanine aminotransferase( ALT)
aspartate aminotransferase( AST)
total bilirubin( TBiL) and prothrombin activity( PA) were detected. The efficacy was evaluated after treatment. Results The total effective rate of the treatment group and control group was 85. 00% and 73. 33% respectively
with no significant difference between groups( P > 0. 05). The levels of ALT
AST and TBiL and symptom scores were significantly decreased in both groups after treatment(P <0. 01). CHE in the control group decreased significantly after treatment
and was lower than that of the treatment group( P < 0. 05). Conclusion Tuihuang Formulas( Jaundice-Subsidising Formula
退黄方) combined with conventional therapy can obviously reduce TBiL
