Objective To research the effects and mechanism of Weiwei Granules on chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG). Methods Totally 50SD rats were randomized into the normal group
model group and Weiwei Granules low-dose(1.8g/d)
middle-dose(3.6g/d)and high-dose(7.2g/d)groups
with 10in each. The CAG models were established in all groups except the normal group with comprehensive method. The intragastric administration lasted for 12weeks.The expressions of Bcl-2and proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA)in mucosa of CAG rats were observed with immunohistochemical method. Results Comparing with the model group
the OD values of Bcl-2in Weiwei Granules groups were significantly decreased(P<0.01).Comparing with the Weiwei Granules low-dose group
the OD value was significantly decreased in the middle-dose group(P<0.01).Comparing with the Weiwei Granules middle-dose group
the OD value was significantly decreased in the high-dose group(P<0.01).Comparing with the model group
the positive expression rate of PCNA in Weiwei Granules groups were significantly decreased(P<0.01).Comparing with the Weiwei Granules low-dose group
the positive expression rate of PCNA was significantly decreased in the middle-dose group(P<0.01).Comparing with the Weiwei Granules middle-dose group
the positive expression rate of PCNA was significantly decreased in the high-dose group(P<0.01). Conclusion Weiwei Granules can relieve the pathological state of gastric mucosal lesions and avoid stomach cancer possibly by inhibiting the expressions of Bcl-2and PCNA in mucosa of CAG rats and regulating the proliferation and apoptosis of cells.
