Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Xiaodian Decoction on children with henoch schonlein purpura( HSP) and its effect on intestinal flora. Methods Totally 65 HSP children were randomized into the treatment group of 38 cases and control group of 27 cases. Both groups were given conventional western medicine treatment( oral administration of loratadine tablets
5mg/time for children under 30 kg and 10mg/time for children whose body weight equal to or above 30 kg once daily; intravenous infusion of methylprednisolone sodium succinate for children with severe symptoms of joints or digestive tract
1
2 mg /( kg·d); The medication lasted less than one week). The treatment group was added with Xiaodian Decoction one dose daily. The treatment lasted for two weeks. The clinical efficacy
symptom improvement and the content changes of lactobacillus
bifidobacterium and colibacillus in stool samples were observed. Results The total effective rate of the treatment group and control group were 92. 11% and81. 48% respectively
with a significant difference between groups( P
<
0. 05). The treatment group was superior to the control group in relieving abdominal pain and improving urine latent blood( P
<
0. 05). The content of lactobacillus in the treatment group was significantly increased after treatment and it was significantly higher than that in the control group( P
<
0. 05). Conclusion Xiaodian Decoction is effective for pediatric HSP and its possible mechanism may be relevant to regulating intestinal lactobacillus content.
