Objective To explore the antioxidant marker level of coronary heart disease( CHD) patient and its correlation with traditional Chinese medicine( TCM) syndromes. Methods Sixty stable angina pectoris( SAP) patients were selected as SAP group and 60 acute coronary syndrome( ACS) patients were selected as ACS group. The TCM syndromes of patients in both groups were obstruction of heart meridian
phlegm obstruction
coldness blocking heart meridian
heart-kidney yin-deficiency
and heart-kidney yang-deficiency. In addition
60 healthy people were selected as the control group. The levels of high sensitivity C-reactive protein( hs-CRP) and superoxide dismutase( SOD)of participants were detected in each group. At the same time
a correlation analysis on hs-CRP and SOD of SAP and ACS patients with different TCM syndromes was performed. Results Comparing with the control group
the level of SOD was significantly decreased but the level of hs-CRP was significantly increased in SAP group and ACS group
especially the level of hs-CRP in ACS group( P < 0. 05). In SAP group
the level of hs-CRP in patients with heartkidney yin-deficiency syndrome and heart-kidney yang-deficiency syndrome was significantly lower than that in patients with obstruction of heart meridian syndrome( P < 0. 05). Each TCM syndrome in SAP group had correlation with hs-CRP
and the correlation coefficient was- 0. 825( P < 0. 01). Each TCM syndrome in ACS group also had correlation with hs-CRP and the correlation coefficient was- 0. 436( P < 0. 01). Conclusion Serum hs-CRP level of CHD patients has a certain correlation with TCM syndrome
and inflammatory reaction may affect the formation of TCM syndrome.
