Objective To observe the impact of Yishen Huayu Jiedu Formula( YSHYJDF) on the microinflammatory states of peritonitis patients undergone continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis( CAPD) and its possible mechanism. Methods Sixty peritonitis patients undergone CAPD with kidney deficiency and phlegm stasis syndrome were randomly divided into treatment group and control group with 30 in each. Routine treatments were applied on both groups. In addition
the treatment group was given YSHYJDF
one dose per day
four weeks a course
for two courses. The clinical efficacy was assessed and TCM syndrome scores were recorded
and the levels of high mobility group box protein 1( HMGB-1) and high sensitive C-reactive protein( hs-CRP) were detected for both groups. Results The clinical effective rate in the treatment group( 83. 34%) was better than that in the control group( 46. 67%
P < 0. 01). After treatment
the TCM syndrome scores as well as levels of HMGB-1 and hs-CRP in the treatment group were significantly decreased
and they were all lower than that in the control group( P < 0. 05 or P < 0. 01). Conclusion Yishen Huayu Jiedu Formula can improve the micro-inflammatory state in peritonitis patient undergone CAPD
which may be associated with lowering the levels of serum HMGB-1 and hs-CRP.
