The onset of mental illness is very complex. The cause has not been completely revealed
and it is always accompanied with somatic symptoms. Physical and psychological are commonly in comorbidity. The concept of comorbidity means that diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders cannot rigidly adhere to one dimensional thinking. It is good to try to consider both of physical and psychological factors
and understand the phenomenon of psychiatric comorbidity comprehensively. However
some shortcomings and confusions in this area have yet to be solved. This paper draws the reasonable elements from the system of TCM mental diseases
and provides some useful reference for the research of modern psychiatric disorders.
