Du Meridian is the sea of Yang meridians. Records on its circulation contain both top-down Nutrient Qi running mode and bottom-up Primordial Qi running mode. Du Meridian has a corresponding relation with brain and kidney
and runs upward transfixing heart by keeping parallel and connecting with Ren Meridian
Bladder Meridian of Foot-Taiyang
and Kidney Meridian of Foot-Shaoyin. Du Meridian can ascend and descend Essence Qi and operate Primordial Qi. Therefore as the convergent places of essence
Qi and spirit
kidney
heart and brain interrelate with each other closely. Thus brain and heart is connected. The unique position and role of brain is prominent through the corresponding collateral relation between kidney and brain.
