This paper is to summarize Professor HUANG Shilin’s clinical experience in treating idiopathic thr bocytopenic purpura（ ITP）. Professor HUANG holds that damp pathogen is the pathological basis of ITP. In clini according to disease courses

he usually differentiates the syndromes as damp-heat type and spleen deficiency ty and makes treatment determination accordingly. Damp-heat type is common in acute stage

and the therapeutic princ is clearing heat

removing dampness

strengthening spleen

transforming turbidity

cooling blood

and stop bleeding. Spleen deficiency type is common in chronic phase

and the therapeutic principle is replenishing Q invigorate the spleen

controlling blood

and stopping bleeding. The prescriptions are self-made Qingre Xiaod Fang（ 清热消癜方） and modified Guipi Tang（ 归脾汤）.
