Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of modified spread moxibustion in the treatment of biceps hypermyotonia in stroke sequela. Methods 62 biceps hypermyotonia patients with first onset of cerebral stroke sequela were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group
with 31 cases in each group. Both groups received conventional medical therapy and routine rehabilitation therapy
and the treatment group was added with modified spread moxibustion treatment once daily. The treatment lasted for one month. The muscle tension and electromyogram( EMG)
the muscle strength and EMG of spasm muscle groups in the two groups were detected before and after the treatment. Results After treatment
the muscle tension and EMG were significantly decreased
and the muscle strength and EMG were significantly increased in both groups( P < 0. 05 or P < 0. 01); The muscle tension and EMG in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group
and the muscle strength and EMG in the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group after treatment( P < 0. 01).Conclusion The modified spread moxibustion can effectively relieve biceps muscle tension and enhance the muscle strength of patients with stroke sequela.
