Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Compound Rhubarb decoction combined with Lithospermum oil in the treatment of Ⅲ and Ⅵ phase of pressure ulcers. Methods Totally 60 patients with Ⅲ and Ⅵ phase of pressure ulcers were randomly divided into treatment group and control group

with 30 cases in each group. In the treatment group

the wound was washed and wet applied with Compound Rhubarb decoction. After the crusts fell off

the wound was applied with lithospermum oil

and dressed every 2 or 3 days. In the control group

after conventional disinfection of the wound

the recombinant human basic fibroblast growth factor was sprayed once daily. After treatment of 10

20 and 30 days

clinical curative effect in the two groups were compared

and the patients’ wound carrion shedding time

granulation appeared time and wound healing time were observed. Results The cure rate and total effective rate were significantly improved in both groups with the extension of treatment time（ P < 0. 05）. After 10 days of treatment

there were no statistically significant differences in the cure rate and total effective rate between the two groups（ P > 0. 05）. After 20 and 30 days of treatment

the cure rate and total effective rate in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group（ P < 0. 05）. The carrion shedding time

granulation time

and wound healing time in the treatment group were shorter than those of the control group（ P < 0. 05）. Conclusion Compound Rhubarb decoction combined with lithospermum oil has better curative effect in treatment of Ⅲ and Ⅵphase of pressure ulcers than basic fibroblast growth factor.
