Objective Adopting factor analysis method to summarize medication characteristics of Prof. ZHANG Farong in treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy（ DPN）. Methods Collected prescriptions of first visit of 122 cases of DPN patients visited Prof. ZHANG Farong from Oct. 2013 to Oct 2014 with clear curative effects. Gathered information related to prescriptions of patients and established database. Conducted frequency count on medications of patients. Filtrated medicine with higher frequency and conducted factor analysis on them. Results There were totally 144 kinds of medicine in 122 patients. Frequency of medicine use was 1952 times in total.
