WU Shentao. Adaptive Balance: Core Mechanism of Chinese Medicine Efficacy[J]. Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2015, 56(22): 1891-1894.DOI: 10.13288/j.11-2166/r.2015.22.001.
The core mechanism of Chinese medicine therapeutic efficacy is adaptive balance effect. Take the common clinical phenomenon that symptoms and signs of many chronic diseases are obviously improved after Chinese medicine treatment but without significant changes in results of laboratory test or pathological examination as the breakthrough point
the author explores the mechanism of Chinese medicine efficacy from angles of traditional Chinese medicine therapeutic thinking
clinical practice and related researches
etc. The author holds that the whole view related to Chinese medicine system is an academic thinking
including correspondence between man and universe
environmental factors and Zang-Fu relationship
and other interactions. These academic thinking and nonlinear complex mechanism
such as individual compatibility of herbs compound
achieve the unique core mechanism of Chinese medicine
which is called adaptive balance effect. Adaptive balance establishes not only relative healthy status
but dynamically progressive new balance which is also the base of disease recovery.
