Objective To observe the clinical effect of intradermal needle therapy preventing and treating hepatocellular carcinoma patients’ pain after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization( TACE). Methods Seventy advanced hepatocellular carcinoma patients who first accepted TACE operation were randomized into intradermal needle group( 35 cases) and sham intradermal needle group( 35 cases). Three hours before TACE operation
intradermal needle group was given intradermal needle therapy. Embed needle in Ganshu( BL18) of right side. Stick the intradermal needle handle to Ganshu( BL18) of right side of sham intradermal needle group patients. Both groups were given needle-embedding for 24 h. Using verbal rating scale( VRS)
evaluated patients’ pain grade at 1 h
3 h
6 h and 24 h after TACE. Observe the cases number of using oxycodone hydrochloride sustained-release tablets in 24 h after operation. Results VRS showed patients of 0 andⅠgrade in intradermal needle group were more than in sham intradermal needle group at 1 h
3h
6 h and 24 h after TACE operation. While patients of Ⅱand Ⅲ grade were less than in sham intradermal needle group
the difference was significant( P < 0. 05). In 24 h after operation
11 patients in intradermal needle group used oxycodone hydrochloride sustained-release tablets
which were much less than 23 patients in sham intradermal needle group( P < 0. 05). Conclusion Intradermal needle therapy could effectively prevent and treat the symptom of pain after patients’ TACE operation in 24 h
and could reduce using of oxycodone hydrochloride sustained-release tablets.
