Objective To observe the clinical curative effects and safety of Yishen Tongluo Fang（ 益肾通络方）combined with western medicine in the treatment of idiopathic membranous nephropathy with spleen and kidney deficiency Syndrome. Methods Sixty cases of idiopathic membranous nephropathy with spleen and kidney deficiency syndrome were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group

with 30 cases in each. The control group was given Prednisone Acetate Tablets

of which the initial dose was 1 mg /（ kg·d）

taken in the morning; Tripterysium Glycosides

20 mg each time

three times per day; Benazepril Hydrochloride Tablets

10 mg each time

once per day; while patients with obvious dry cough were given Valsartan Capsules

80 mg each time

once per day

and Dipyridamole Tablet

50 mg each time

three times per day instead. The treatment group also used Yishen Tongluo Fang

one dose per day

in addition to medicines same as what the control group took. The two groups were both treated for3 months. Levels of 24-hour urinary total protein（ UTP）

and liver function were examined respectively before treatment as well as one and three months after treatment. Results Levels of UTP remarkably decreased in both two groups after one month of treatment compared with that before treatment（ P < 0. 05 or P < 0. 01）; levels of UTP

and TC remarkably decreased

while TP and ALB remarkably increased in both two groups after three months of treatment compared with that before treatment（ P <0. 05 or P < 0. 01）; and level of UTP in the treatment group was remarkably lower than that in the control group（ P <0. 01）. Levels of BUN

SCr

and UA showed no obvious changes in two groups after one month or three months of treatment（ P > 0. 05）. No obvious changes in blood routine and liver function were found in both two groups after one month or three months of treatment. Conclusion The treatment of Yishen Tongluo Fang（ 益 肾 通 络 方）combined with western medicine for idiopathic membranous nephropathy could decrease the level of 24-hour urinary protein quantity

increase plasma protein level

decrease blood fat with good safety. It seems superior to only western medicine treatment in decreasing 24-hour urinary protein quantity aspect.
