the authors found external auditory canal had been used as an acupoint by ancients in clinic for a long time. This point was found to be used many times but unnamed in lite rature reports. It has widely clinical use and good therapeutic effect. There were more than 20 diseases treated when this point was used as the main or matching acupoint. It had stationary location and was not in the same layer and far apart from other known acupoints. Based on above
the authors hold that "external auditory canal"acupoint was named after "external auditory canal"in terminology of anatomy. The authors also studied anatomical features
