the pathogenesis of the disease is Yang-deficiency and cold-congealing as root cause

and dampness-heat

turbid-poison and blood-stagnation as the symptoms. Yang-deficiency affecting Yin

Yin deficiency

as well as both Yin and Yang deficiency will also occur in the later period. Thus

the treatment rule includes warming channels and strengthening Yang

spelling cold and removing-dampness to treat the root cause

while clearing away heat and toxic materials and promoting circulation to treat the symptoms. Yanghe Decoction（ 阳和汤） combined with Simiao Yong’ an Decoction（ 四妙勇安汤） is often used to treat both the root cause and the symptoms in clinic.
