Objective To provide data support for setting related diagnosis criteria and scales by statistics of main clinical manifestations of wind pathogen syndrome factors in chronic kidney diseases from literature analysis. Methods Related papers on chronic kidney disease and wind pathogen were reviewed in Chinese Journal Database and Wan Fang Data. Included papers were made terminology standardization. Then
the researchers calculated the clinical manifestations of wind pathogen syndrome factors
the main syndrome types and the use frequency of dispelling-wind herbs. Results Totally 33 papers were included. There were 15 clinical manifestations of wind pathogen syndrome factors. The top 5 frequent manifestations were acute attack with exogenous symptoms or repeated attacks due to exogenous pathological factors(28)
a large amount of foam in urine(14)
puffiness of face(12)
waist and knee pain/arthralgia(7)
dizziness/tinnitus/raised blood pressure(6). There were 5 syndrome types relatedto wind pathogen
wind pathogen attack(24)
internal stirring of kidney wind(9)
internal stirring of liver wind(4)
external invasion by wind-toxicity(3) and external invasion by wind-dampness(2). Sixty-five wind-related herbs were used. Top 5 of the frequency were Fangfeng [Radix Saposhnikoviae](16)
Chantui [Periostracum Cicadae](13)
Jiangcan [Bombyx Batryticatus](12)
Dilong [Lumbricus](9)
Zisuye [Folium Perillae](9)
Mahuang [Herba Ephedrae](8)
Quanxie [Scorpio](8) and Jingjie [Herba Schizonepetae](8). Conclusion Main clinical manifestations of wind pathogen syndrome factors in chronic kidney disease were acute attack with exogenous symptoms or repeated attacks due to exogenous inducing
a large amount of foam in urine
puffiness of face
which showed 3 syndrome types of exogenous wind pathogen
internal stirring of kidney wind and internal stirring of liver wind.
