Objective To observe the efficacy of Yiqi Wenyang Huoxue Lishui Fang(益气温阳活血利水方
YWHLF) in adjuvant therapy of cardiorenal syndromes(CRS). Methods Totally 123 patients with CRS were randomized into treatment group(62 cases) and control group(61 cases). Both groups were given symptomatic treatment in western medicine
while the treatment group was additionally given oral YWHLF with one dose daily. Both groups were treated for 20 days. After treatment
clinical efficacy
improvement of heart function
creatinine clearance rate(Ccr)
dose of diuretic and adverse reactions were observed. Results The total effective rate in the treatment group and the control group was 83. 33% and 61. 67% respectively
with significant difference between the two groups(P < 0. 01). After treatment
the ejection fraction(EF) and Ccr in the treatment group improved significantly compared with those before treatment(P < 0. 01)
while there was no significant difference in the control group before and after treatment(P > 0. 05). After treatment in the treatment group
usage of the intravenous diuretics in the 47 patients with oral and intravenous diuretics reduced b half dosage
or they even stop using the intravenous diuretics; the dose usage of the diuretics in the 13 patients with oral diuretics alone reduced by half. However
there was no significant difference in the dose of diuretics before and after treatment in the 60 patients in the control group(P >0. 05). During the treatment
different degree of adverse reactions occurred in the control group
including electrolyte disturbance(40 cases)
diuretic resistance(32 cases) and lipid disorders(25 cases)
while there existed mild electrolyte disturbance(20 cases)
diuretic resistance(15 cases) in the treatment group
with significant difference between the two groups(P < 0. 01). Conclusion YWHLF could improve the clinical efficacy in the adjuvant therapy of CRS
and could significantly reduce the adverse reactions caused by Western medicine.
