Objective To explore the syndrome types and medication rules of lip cancer based on literature in Ming-Qing dynasties.MethodsChinese medical literature related to lip cancer in Ming-Qing dynasties were reviewed in library of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.Syndrome

prescription and herb information of included literature was extracted.After unified standardized processing

database of Chinese medicine treating lip cancer was established.Frequency analysis was made on syndrome types

prescriptions

herbs and herbs’classification.Results Forty-two papers were included at last

with 14 syndrome types

167 herbs.Top 6 syndrome types of high frequency were syndrome of heat accumulation in spleen-stomach（15）

syndrome of heat accumulation in heart-spleen（14）

syndrome of wind-heat in spleen channel（13）

syndrome of exuberance heat of liver fire（10）

syndrome of exuberance of stomach fire（9）and syndrome of internal heat due to kidney deficiency（9）.Among oral decoctions
