This article reviewed the history and transformation of the evaluation methods of Chinese medicine clinical efficacy in treating rheumatoid arthritis(RA). Both the research status of evaluation methodology on Chinese medicine clinical efficacy of RA and the existing problems were analyzed. It was thought that patient reported outcome(PRO) held the same view on the idea of"people oriented"and the model of diagnosis and treatment. On the premise of Chinese medicine holistic view and syndrome differentiation and treatment
the application of PRO in the evaluation system of Chinese medicine clinical efficacy of RA would comprehensively reflect the characteristics and advantage of dynamic changes of Chinese medicine in the intervention of RA. It was proposed that the construction of a standard and measurable PRO scale based on Chinese medicine inspection would provide an innovative and scientific method for the evaluation system of Chinese medicine clinical efficacy of RA.
