The clinical experience of Professor YAN Huimin in the treatment of infantile cholestasis liver disease( fetal jaundice) was summarized. It is believed that the disease is caused by dampness pathogen
which is the main cause of fetal jaundice. Dampness pathogen can block the qi movement in both yin jaundice and yang jaundice
resulting in unsmooth blood circulation and blocked blood stasis. The disease is caused by bile overflowing out of bile duct to the skin
but dysfunction of spleen in transportation
dysfunction of stomach in harmonizing and descending
and internal generation of dampness pathogen are the root causes. In clinical practice
the four diagnostic techniques should be combined
and yin and yang syndrome should be differentiated firstly. The color of the stool and the thickness of the tongue coating are the main basis for syndrome differentiation. Treatment is often to remove dampness
and take into account the cold and heat
and the method of promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis is going throughout the treatment; at the same time
the method of dispersing stagnated liver qi for promoting bile flow is strengthened to cure the disease and solve the root causes. In the course of treatment
it is necessary not to forget to concern and protect the healthy qi
prevent medicinal pathogen from damaging the healthy qi. Meanwhile
from the first small beginnings one can see how things will develop. We should not only prevent disease
