This paper aimed at understanding function of spleen from different perspectives of Chinese and western medicine and its important role in the occurrence
development and prognosis of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome( AIDS) to provide ideas and methods for the prevention and treatment of AIDS by traditional Chinese medicine. Human immunodeficiency virus( HIV) is not only different from the six climatic exopathogens
but also different from the pestilential qi. It has its own unique onset
transmission and prognosis rules. Deficiency has always been throughout the course of the disease
and the spleen is the key lesion organ of the disease. With the general condition of spleen deficiency
there is more attention needed to pay for protecting spleen
improving the immune function of patients
slowing down the progress of AIDS
and improving the quality of life in the treatment of AIDS.
